Heat: Yes we did!!! (get beat by the Mavs)

First off I was leaning more on the Heat for the finals to avenge my Lakers. Unfortunately it didn't happen. Cost me $50.00 and I must say, it wasn't a good bet. Maybe my feelings toward the Lakers clouded my judgment on who to put my money on but it doesn't matter much now.

Dallas Mavericks are the champs!!! I can't say Dirk is the man, Barea is the man, or Terry made it happen. It was a total team effort and yes, that's what wins championships. I thought the Heat had too much talent for the Mavericks to handle. Turns out, it's the Heat themselves who can't handle their talent.

I won't be talking about numbers here. Since clearly the Mavericks came out with the sense of urgency. Nowitzki, Kidd, Terry, Stojakovic, Marion, all of whom fell short on winning championship. They had the drive to win this year and yes they deserve it. They weren't about to let anyone get in their way. Especially not now.

Facepalm in post-conference
I didn't like the way this finals ended though due to the fact that the Heat didn't even put up a fight. Well maybe D. Wade did a little bit but that's about it. The question this entire series was "where the fuck is Lebron?". Sadly that question remained unanswered. Am I mad at the Heat right now? Yes, but it wasn't because of the lose. It's because of the lack of the willingness to win.

Congratulations to the Mavericks but I don't think they'll win another title in a long time. They won because they wanted to win a ring so bad. All those trips to the playoffs, finals, and not bringing home a title. That gave them the extra energy to outperform their adversary this year and now that they have it I think their motivation will drop dramatically. Plus, they're too old. No offense. Don't get all cranky at me now, it's just my opinion.

For the Heat, what they need to do is to look forward to better themselves for the next season. Create opportunities for themselves and put up new challenges for them individually and as a team. Major and minor moves either way, won't make any difference. The key to their success is if the stars play together and understand that this game, is a "team" game while showcasing their individual talent through their aggressiveness. My personal suggestion, put an "R" in the middle of the Heat. More HEART!!!

LAKER RANT!!! BOO!!!

Before the game I thought the Lakers would come out with the energy that could beat any team who would come their way. Going through the 1st half the although the Laker's mediocre defense held up, Laker offense was sluggish, pathetic and 80% didn't make sense to me. Even then I had hope that the Lakers would blow them out on the 2nd half.

All throughout the game I was swearing and smacking my bed every single time I saw them make a bad play, make a turnover, uncalled fouls, and most especially missed 3 pointers during the 2nd half.

Yes the gameplan was to defend Dirk Nowitzki with mostly Lamar Odom because of versatility purposes but obviously it has not worked. Defend Dirk Nowitzki with multiple defenders also to be extra physical, still did not work.. Getting the two 7-footers of the Lakers involved early in the game. Slowing down the pace to impose the length advantage. See all those things has not happened during the course of the series.

What has worked so far are all from the Maverick's perspective. Hasten the pace. Attack with aggressive guards. Dirk Nowitzki isolation. Dirk Nowitzki getting his shots up early to give the spacing advantage to the Mavericks. No foul trouble for Tyson Chandler which is the anchor of their defense.

All of these things are kind of fine for me but damn it every shot Dirk takes goes in!!! Yes, he is very difficult to defend but its like a 99 overall video game character! Every single shot no matter how awkward it looks!

I am so mad at the bad luck the Lakers are facing but even more mad at the fact that the Lakers have not played their style of basketball.

They were shooting 3's even though they weren't making any. I always hear this line from NBA coaches, "if two 3 pointers don't go in, put your head down and try to get fouled". I don't want to check the stat sheets anymore after this game. I think they only made two 3 pointers during the course of the game. Two of which came from the last seconds that didn't really matter.

What I'm saying is, this by far is the most frustrated I have been in a long time. Lakers need to get their act together. They only need one thing to come back to this series and that is TEAM DEFENSE!!! They have got to rotate quicker and be sharper overall. Fight through picks and box out for rebounds. Double Dirk and be quicker on the weak side. This has been the Laker defense for a long time and they need to get back to it.

To sum it up, well Ron Artest already did that for me. Hope he doesn't get suspended for it.

I am ranting and I still have a lot to rant about but win or lose, I still got a lot of love for the Lakers and Phil Jackson.

Fast 5: The Fastest and Most Furious Ride Yet Review (spolier freeÜ)

If you've been watching The Fast and the Furious movies then clearly you've been dying to watch this installment. As soon as I watched the trailer I knew I had to watch this and it didn't even matter if I had to go alone. You know what got me excited? It was the reunion of every major character of the series. Well except for the main guy in Tokyo Drift. Also, the setting is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I know right!? So read on.

For those who don't know or haven't watched any of the Fast and the Furious movies, don't worry. As the story progresses the characters' identities will be revealed little by little and it won't take much analysis to figure them all out.
For those who have watched every single Fast and the Furious movie? You're in for a treat! Since you already know the story behind every character, you will be able to relate to how they feel making their acting very genuine and believable. The movie also gives the characters more color as it goes which makes it better. So having known a little more about the characters' background gives it an additional taste. No distress, familiar or not. This movie will really get your juice going.

Very balanced mix of action, drama, and comedy. I was at the edge of my seat for the full movie which is 130 minutes long. Awesome! How about the acting? Who gives a damn about the acting? It's a freakin' fast and furious movie! The story, although a little more complicated than usual, was very well thought of. Especially the extended stories of the main characters. A little twist and turn here and there. An even mix of humorous lines and scenes to lighten up the mood, and a lot of epic action and car chases all throughout.

All in all, the movie is an 9 for me. Even at the end of it all my excitement never dropped. Must watch indeed for all ages! Even my girlfriend who constantly falls asleep during action movies (even the previous Fast and Furious installment) enjoyed this one. So yeah, it's that good. Enjoy guys!

Oh!!! Wait, one last tip for you guys out there. Don't leave the theater too soon okay? ;)

Michael Jackson the Experience (my experience)

As an above average Michael Jackson fan I am so happy that this game finally came out on the xbox. This is truly a treat for the MJ fans out there. Being able to hear his top hits. Dance to it, sing to it, sing and dance to it! It's simply awesome.

Me and my girlfriend actually tried this out before it was released at Best Buy. Even before trying it out we were like "we should get this game". After trying it out we were like "let's pre-order later". It was amazing how it was showcased on the kinect. You can see your entire body including your face and you get a couple of back up dancers while dancing to the song. So it's as if you're a star with back up dancers. I'm actually not sure about seeing yourself  other than with the xbox, but whatever, it's MJ!!!

This game is really enjoyable when there's at least two of you playing together. Solo mode? I don't really dig it. Unless if there was going to be a contest of some sort in which I had to practice and all. Anyways, this is a totally fun family game. Bring your dad, your mom, your little sister, brother, heck get your neighbors. I'm sure it would be so awesome during parties especially when alcohol is introduced.

Modes include, solo, party, and there's also a tutorial. You can play up to 4 players either battle or cooperative. So yeah, you can have your enemies over to your place as well.

All in all I'd recommend this game to people who host parties and to those who have people in their place often. Very enjoyable indeed, and who doesn't want to do a bunch of MJ dance moves? Trust me, you don't have to be a dancer to play this game. You'll have fun either way. Enjoy!

Dark Road Towards the Championship

Hold your breath! Cross your fingers! Pray! The Laker Nation is concerned about the 3-peat championship run. Losing 5 games in a row after a strong 17-1 record, they have lost their edge, focus, and motivation. Is it Phil's tactic? Not likely. Yes, they have proven to turn it on when they are slumping but the playoff position isn't looking any good. I'm pretty sure they want to finish at least 2nd or 3rd in the Western Conference playoff race, but it looks like they'll be ending up in 4th. That is, if they don't win their last 2 games, and even that doesn't guarantee the spots. Trust me, they don't want to be number 4, and no team is a joke in the playoffs. Especially when it comes to the Western Conference.

Add to that, Andrew Bynum got injured earlier in the game against the Spurs. Bynum hyperextended his knee as he stepped on the foot of D. Blair while running down the court. Great, the road towards the championship is a dark one. We are hoping that Bynum's injury would not be serious, or serious enough to disable him from playing in the playoffs.

Yes, the Lakers have played well even without Bynum. They have been on this road before, and they have proven that at the start of the season but he is a critical part of what the Lakers do. He is a force under the rim. Rebounding, blocking, changing shots, intimidation, and guess what, all of those are the top defensive weapons most especially when it comes to the playoff's half-court game. What concerns me now is the depth of the Lakers going to the playoffs. It is like going to war without your big ass bazooka.

On a lighter side. If Bynum does not play, we'll see Odom. He is reliable and personally, the most consistent player in the Laker's arsenal. The Lakers overall are a championship team. They will fight and do their best to get to the champion's throne once again. Let us hope for Bynum's full and fast recovery. LET'S GO LAKERS!!!

Women, The Best Fighters In The World (STRICTLY FOR GUYS)

Is this really that hard? In 60-75% of women, all they do in a relationship is fight. These beings love to fight. If your woman isn't included in this statistic, then don't let go of her! Treat her right and you shall be grateful. Women are awesome fighters. Why you say? Because they are misleading and complicated, and in what I have observed, these fighters come in 3 types. They can either be in a form of a ninja (silent and deadly), a gladiator (brutal and violent), or simply a woman (just plain complicated).

THE NINJA
Like the ninja, she is a silent assassin that is quite tricky and annoying. The ninja performs a kill silently, and slowly, and the ninja rarely fails. When you piss a ninja off, she will use her favorite move. The "silence" move, slowly torturing you and then before you know it she throws her ninja stars at you, smoke bombs, whatever she is capable of depending on her level (let's call it age). The lower the age the less dangerous the weapon is. How does this actually work?

Scenario

Man: Hey, sorry I was an hour late. I had this meeting with my boss on the spot.

Ninja: ...

Man: I know you're mad at me but I said I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you next time.

Ninja: Hmph...

Man: Hey, can you please answer me here. I feel so dumb talking to myself.

Ninja: You feel dumb? How do you think I feel waiting for you here for an hour! (and so on...)

As you can see in the scenario, the ninja silently makes you feel guilty. Making you realize it's all your fault and believe it or not, she does this silently. As the conversation progresses, the ninja thinks what weapons she will be using to punish you for your crimes. In this case, tardiness. At the end of the scenario, you see the ninja is attacking you. Using your momentum to her advantage and this duel shall be in the total control of the ninja. How long this will take and how dirty it's going to get? Only the ninja knows.

Smarter ninjas tend to use a more advanced style. Like "google" ing the most important NBA game of the season and she sits next to you and asks you a bunch of questions. The worst thing she will do, reserve a restaurant for your date the same day as the NBA finals, Superbowl, whatever.

The ninja is very strategic therefore she is smart. She is a poker player and at the same time a detective. She's a poker player since she likes to play the mind games when it comes to the fight and a detective because she searches for hard evidence when she senses something wrong.

What is the best way to fight a ninja? Let me ask you this instead, do you know when a ninja strikes? There's no way to fight. You cannot strike first. No hugs. No kisses. It won't work. Prevention is key. Know your surroundings and most importantly, earn the ninja's trust. That is how you handle the ninja.

THE GLADIATOR
The gladiator is plainly brutal. She will start off strong and end off even stronger. Some may use a shield and a sword, a whip, an ax, a hammer, a net, or even two swords at once. Guys, if you're with a gladiator. Kudos to you. The gladiator is not difficult to figure out. She is a psycho and extremely paranoid. She will attack at will and will stop until you are dead. She will not give you any room to breathe and she is relentless.

Scenario
Man gets inside the house.

Gladiator (Standing by the door): Where the hell have you been? Strip club? Or did you have a dinner meeting with your secretary?

Man: Come on, I... (gladiator interrupts)

Gladiator: Shut up! You know what, I'm tired of your excuses. Always out with your friends while I'm here alone. Why can't I go to a strip club with you guys?! I clean the dishes, wash your clothes, who the f@#$ do you think you are! (throws something at the man)

Man: (Here we go again)

As you can see in this scenario. All of the typical gladiator traits are evident. She starts throwing assumptions and never gives you a chance to explain. She just grabs her sword and then stabs you a couple of times and throws a deadly blow once in a while. Although they are violent they are prone to trickery.

How do you handle a gladiator. First thing, attack first. Hug her and kiss her before anything else. Be smart. Don't say anything stupid. This will calm her down. Once your attack has begun, wrap her hands and don't give her the chance to pick up her weapon. Compliment her but not too much to the point where she will doubt. The gladiator may be fierce in battle, but outside of the battle they are emotional and fragile.

THE WOMAN
The most common type of fighter. You cannot defeat a woman in an argument. It has never happened because women never express their feelings through their mouth. If you just piss off your woman and asks her "are you alright?" and she says "yeah I'm fine" you're in big trouble my man. She's going to freakin' cut off your head. They are very misleading. They always express the opposite emotions they are feeling. Not just to us men, but also to other women as well.

Scenario
Woman: Oh I hate that bitch, she always wears these kinds of clothes like she's at a prom or something and ...
(suddenly the woman she's talking about walks in)

Woman: Oh heeeeeyyyyy!!! how are you? Why did you just arrive now? Did you eat already?

So this type of woman is quite easy to read once you get the hang of it. Read her body language well because what she says isn't accurate. This is how you handle her. Study your woman's every movement. Remember what she did the last time you fought. That information will usually be valuable to your survival. Read the movements and react. Not to react quick but to react smart.

Because this type covers a lot of things and is very complicated. She will be in another topic. Keep posted guys! This is critical for the survival of our species.

Limitless: Spoiler free review

What better thing to do on a relaxing Friday night than to watch a movie? Alcohol? Sorry, I'm being healthy for the next 3 months. Anyways, it was just between watching Source Code or Limitless. Obviously Limitless won in my mental election. What helped most in the decision making? Two words, Bradley Cooper. Yeah, the cool guy from Hangover. He gave that movie a cool feel and personally, took the movie over the hump. It's not a Hangover review so enough about that.

Limitless is an action, a bit of fantasy (i guess) film about a tiny clear pill that cost $800 a pop. A pill that could give you access to 100% of your brain's power. Yep, having a four digit I.Q. is now possible. You can basically learn things in a faster rate and change your entire life extremely. Changing a lowlife bum into a successful, popular, and very intelligent young man. This is what happened to Eddie Mora (Bradley Cooper). Everything else follows. Unfortunate events, fortunate events, but like other drugs, it had side effects and adverse reactions. Too bad for Eddie, he wasn't told the full details of the pill. The only thing he was told of was it was going to change his life. What are these side effects? Well, you have to find out for yourself.

This movie is very entertaining. They really put a lot of work in the conversations, and covered a lot of fields. Stock Market, Medical, Pharmaceutical, or just plain Business. You name it, it's all there. 100% of the movie was exciting. Everyone played their role to perfection. Robert DeNiro's character although complicated, became easily understandable thanks to his superb portrayal. Most of us can relate to this movie. This movie makes you think about things. Like why aren't we able to fully use our brain? Why are we limited to just 20%? Is there something bad beyond  20%?  This movie is a must watch. The target audience is wide. Young, old, male. female, nerds, douchebags, everyone is invited. I give it a 7.3!!! Not a 10? Well it's not a super awesome, great movie. That's why. I'm sure you'll enjoy. Trust me.

STRICTLY FOR GUYS!!! Guide to a Successful Relationship (on a daily basis)

My purpose is to help men with their heterosexual relationships. To lengthen, nurture, most especially strengthen the bonds between the male and female connection. To understand the woman for what she is, what she wants, what she needs. To be the greatest boyfriend if not the last boyfriend she will ever have.
I have learned all these things not just from my experiences but from others as well. I will impart this knowledge to those who want to make their relationship work. This knowledge shall not be used as a weapon, but as a guide to make this world a better place. For couples to last longer. For divorce to lessen. For women to be treated by men beyond his own.

For the true male, there is no greater thing than love for the opposite gender but in order for this to work, the female must also love you back. Such an affinity works both ways. As a male, we should understand how women work. It sounds offensive but there is no harm intended.

What do women really want from us guys? I'd say 80-90% of women want the same thing. The other 10-20% are either mentally ill, no regard for living, or just plain stupid. I used the term women for several reasons. Women are mature enough to understand the basic principles of a relationship. Women are as they themselves believe, are emotionally strong and stable but they are not. Most of all, women have, as much as emotional needs, intimate physical needs that must be nurtured and must be attended to most of the time if not all the time.

As a man, we should know at least 80% of the time how the woman psyche works. They have certain needs at certain times. Day, night, near, far, eating, sleeping, sometimes when she's angry, most of the time when she's sad. A man should be attentive, aware, and a little bit alert to certain tells, and to succeed, a man must get it right 60-80% of the time depending on the woman's feeling towards the man.

During the day, your duty as a man would include waking up before your woman. Why so? It most definitely is so, especially when you are still getting started with your relationship. Women want their man doing something for them even if it's still early in the morning. They find it very enticing to know that their man is thinking about them during the start of the day. Whether it's cooking breakfast, brunch, or just letting your hand graze over her arm. They feel loved and emotionally secured when this is done. For those who are still starting out, this act will be a big plus since this will start of her day with the sun smiling at her.

Throughout the day, be available to your woman as much as possible. Although they might not show it, they want to spend time with you even in the absence of words. Availability is a critical part in making a relationship work, especially for a guy. Guys, when we plan on playing our favorite video game and it just isn't there, doesn't that almost make you mad? This is the same for a woman more or less. Although she might not say how disappointed she is on not being able to make it for a party on a certain night, believe me, she is. This would often time come up in one of your future arguments because most women tend to record several mishaps but that's another topic.

When eating, never be greedy. Never ever lose focus on your woman especially when you are still early in your relationship. Even if you are starving to death. There is no excuse even if you say that you haven't eaten all day. If possible, try to share your food. Believe me, it works both ways. It's a win win situation. You get to taste her food and before you know it you're in an interesting conversation. Some women may find men who eat like they're dying, cute.  Although some might find it cute, the "some" is just 15-20% of women. The only key is to never lose your composure. This will make your woman feel very important because you are showing so much interest in her. For the one's who are in a relationship for quite some time, this area would be an exception although it never hurts to do a little of this here and there.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Not in a relationship it's not. In a relationship, dinner is the most important meal of the day. Actually, it's not the meal that's important. It's the time of the day. It is where you set the tone for her sleep. To make her feel wonderful and make her feel loved before she hits the hay. In a long day, the woman requires someone to say "you're so beautiful" and coming from you, that would mean the world to her. Dinner time is where she sums up the day. This is where she talks about how her day went, what happened at work, how exhausted she is. Guys, be careful with your words. This is one of the many times where she becomes sensitive in what you say. It might be because of something bad happening on that day, exhaustion, or stress, we never know. How will you know if you are using the right words? You don't, just do your best to be on her side and be logical and helpful at the same time and in my opinion, this is the hardest part to handle in a heterosexual relationship.

Example
Woman: My boss at work really hated my presentation, I don't know what I did wrong.

Response: I'm sure you did great, maybe he just had a bad day. I can help you next time if you want.
(it doesn't matter if you help her or not, it's the thought that counts)

Also, to add to the difficulty, the sense of touch is limited to holding hands depending on the sitting arrangement.

A little tip here. It would really help if you took care of dinner. Cooking is preferable but take out would be just fine.

Of course it doesn't end there. Such conversations from dinner shall be carried on to bed. Here it becomes easier. The bed is your friend. It is easier since in bed, the distance between you and your woman lessens. You can apply touch and that makes the woman relaxed and calm. This is key to making the woman feel great in the morning. Hug her, kiss her, let her know you are there for her no matter what. If everything would be done correctly, this offers a sense of security for the woman. Makes the woman feel lucky and realizes how important she is to you and thus, you are to her.

A lot will be going on in a woman's mind before she sleeps, except of course if she is too tired. Most of these thoughts still remain a mystery for us men but this is the time when she thinks about your future. Usually over thinks and suddenly asks questions followed by more questions and fortunately enough, could very seldom end up messy. Don't worry though, these questions are easy to handle. Just don't forget to say those sweet things, how much you love her and stuff.

That's it, one perfect day down. Hopefully more days to go. Constant effort isn't really a big deal if you love what you're doing. Surely, it's not advisable to do the same things over and over everyday. Change it up a bit. Go to the zoo, observatory, drink, party, movie, concert, you know what I'm talking about. In time you will get the hang of it and this whole post would just be second nature.

Paul: review (spoiler free Ü)

If you have read my previous review about battle LA, you should know by now that I'm the guy that loves extraterrestrial topics and whatnot.

I knew right away that I would love this movie right from the beginning and I was right. Two nerds from England take flight to America to participate in Comicon. After that, they decided to take on an alien expedition and stumbles upon Paul. (not a spoiler) The rest? Well, you have to find out for yourself. For those who want a good laugh. This is the movie that's perfect for you. For those who just had a few drinks and want to kill time before going home. For those who are very religious, well, you can watch but don't take the jokes too seriously. Okay? The humor is cleverly done. There are some swearing and cursing going on. So for those who are thinking of bringing their little kiddies  to watch a cute alien movie, FORGET IT! Unless you're cool with your kids using some of those s&%*t a$$ words.

Don't let the alien cover fool you. This movie is quite humorous and very enjoyable to watch. Especially with Seth Rogan's voice. As an alien fanatic, I give this movie an above average rating of 7.5. Would I watch this movie again? Heck yeah! Especially when I'm drunk! Small jokes occurring frequently and each of them never failed to give me a good laugh. Otherwise, it made me chuckle. Very cool movie indeed. For those who love watching Seth Rogan movies, you most definitely have to watch this!

Oh What A Night: Frankie Valli concert

This idea came from watching too much television. I encountered an ad that Frankie Valli is going to perform somewhere near my place. I told my girlfriend about it and lucky for us, she's free on that weekend!
If you don't know Frankie Valli, I don't blame you. He's got hits from the 60's down to the 90's. Even I didn't know him until I saw the Jersey Boys show in Las Vegas. Turns out I knew maybe 3 of his songs. Since then, I've become a fan. His high sharp voice is impeccable, not to mention the choreography they put into their performances. His 2 most famous hits as a solo artist were My Eyes Adore You, and Can't Take My Eyes Off You, but the peak of his career was being in the group called Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Their most famous hits are Walk Like A Man, Big Girls Don't Cry, Sherry, and Rag doll. Now you know who he is!

I was really hyped about it and before we knew it, we were there sitting at the farthest seats available. Not good seats? That's what I also thought. What was so cool about this concert other than being a Frankie Valli concert was it was indoors and you can eat and drink alcoholic beverages as often as you like. As the lights dimmed, everyone was shouting, and cheering their asses off. The band started off loud but at the same time smooth. After a while, an old little man with white hair came to the stage and there he was. Listening to his music through itunes, youtube, and cds. Now I can finally hear him live! This one has got to be one of the most awesome moments that ever happened since I got here.

Amazingly, his voice stayed the same. Everyone was enjoying the fine music that was surrounding the room, but what really made me smile were the old people getting off their seats and dancing while singing along. These folks grew up listening to his songs and it must've felt electrifying just listening to Frankie once again. Even though it was just four young guys instead of the original members, every performance was still delightful and amusing. Oh, about our seats? I realized we had the best seats in the house not just 'cause we can see the stage and the monitors very clearly, but also because we can see everyone having a good time. Nothing like seeing old people groovin'.

When he got off the stage some thought that the show was already over. So me and my girlfriend waited a little and then stood up. To our amazement, he came back to perform 3 more songs. Since we were already standing up, we just swayed along with everyone else, sang along, clapped our hands, having a great time.

Just like that, the show was already over. Oh what a night. To spend this amazing concert with someone really close to your heart made it extra special.

I kept thinking about those old people having a good time dancing along. Me and my girlfriend were talking about it and if we were going to be old and we would be in these guys' shoes, we'd be at a Black Eyed Peas concert rocking, rapping, and dancing like teenagers again.

Battle: LA review, spoiler free ;)

As soon as it came out, me and my girlfriend watched it right away. This movie got me excited 'cause I'm a guy who's really interested in extraterrestrials and all those stuff. You have to know, that this movie is not another version of 2012. It's simply about alien invasion and us being screwed if ever that happens. I was so looking forward to watching it, and having Ne-yo in the movie, is a plus for me.

Battle LA is a fast-paced, action packed film. Everyone were always on the move. The alien invasion, I would say, was very well thought off and very unique in a way. All the scenes were smartly done and every conversation hits you like you're in the movie yourself.
The acting you say? It's a freakin' alien-action movie, you don't need good acting to pull this one off.
The story? For me, as an alien fanatic, I rate the story as 6. There wasn't much story but the action and the tiny bits of drama more than made up for it (for me).

I recommend this movie not only to the extraterrestrial fanatics, but also to those who love military action flicks. Don't worry, the military wasn't dumb in this movie. Just so you know.

Anyways, I don't want to oversell this movie. Remember, I'm a person who's very interested in extraterrestrial   stuff. This particular subject really gets my juice flowing. We have our own preference. You might fall asleep when the movie gets fast and when things start exploding from left to right, but personally, this movie hits a solid 7 overall including my personal preference.

Japan Disaster: The Rest of the World's Wake Up Call

I've been watching the news as soon as I heard of the tragedy, and I must admit, it got me thinking about a lot of things. It opened my eyes about how blessed we are as human beings to have been given the chance to live in this beautiful world. A powerful being placed us all in this earth, and He can take us away if he so chooses.
I feel sad for the people in Japan. Especially to those who have been closest to the epicenter of the event. I pray everyday for everyone especially my family and friends to be safe, and just last night, my prayers just became more meaningful.
To those who are reading this, you are very lucky. Lucky enough to still be alive and to have been given another chance to reflect and be grateful of what you have. Fortunate enough to be able to take things more seriously and not take anything for granted.

Yes there has been news all over the place, but I'm not going to talk about that, let's just put it all aside for now. We may just be walking around thinking that everything is going to be alright but it's not. Let's accept the fact that as unpredictable as the world is, anything will happen at any time of day without notice. Just like that things will change. If you're fortunate enough, you might still be able to see these changes. Changes that may reduce mankind to absolute zero. We just never know.

We have been tested once again and we have been given, yet another chance of life. Will there be more disasters to come? Most likely. Will the future catastrophes be greater and much more destructive? Probably. Will we be ready for it? Not yet, and no matter how hard we try to prepare, it's all going to be futile. The most we can do for now is just continue to live life and make the most out of it. This is how we get ready. We don't necessarily have to make peace to all our enemies, but at least make your life happier for you and for others. Cherish where you are now and who you are with. Take pleasure in everything life has to offer.

Well, I'm sorry to say, that I guess we needed this disaster to make us remember and realize all the things that we just ignore. The things that makes this world a better place. Although we cannot see it, it has always been there. Glowing, or simply waiting to be nurtured. The bonds that we have with the ones we love, people we have met and forgotten. The bonds that simply defines us. The bonds that make us strong. The bonds that gives us the reason to live each day. The bonds that make this world a much, much better place to live in.

As much as how the earthquake made us feel its destructive power, it made us feel more than that of its physical dimension. It made us feel worried, worried for those who have been affected and are going to be affected by the  disaster. It made us feel sad, sad for those who have lost their families and friends and to those who are now struggling to survive. More importantly for the most part, it made us feel fear. Fear for the upcoming disasters this world has to offer. Never knowing what's going to happen next.

My prayers to all of the affected families and friends of the disaster. To all of Japan.
Make life worth living, for uncertainty is our live's biggest reality.

Lakers vs Heat: Revenge for the Lakers. Redemption for the Heat.

After a 16 point deficit against the Heat on their meeting last December. The Lakers wanted to take this one badly. Lakers have won 8 straight games in a row and were looking to add one more to the current streak. The Heat on the other hand were looking for a break with all the media tension, attention, and their 5 game losing steak. This game is as big as it gets.

Early in the game, the Heat caught fire. They got their 3 point shots to go down thanks to both Chalmers and Miller. Of all the fire engulfing the Heat, Chris Bosh was the guy early on scoring 16 points in the 1st half alone. Tonight, Bosh was a man on a mission. Although the Lakers were out-rebounded, they never let up. Kobe Bryant was hot right off the bat which is a very bad thing for the Heat. The Lakers were executing their plays offensively and were only down by 2 points at the end of the half 55-53. The Heat giving the opposing team their trademark, strong 1st half of the game.

Slow start at the second half for both teams mostly due to the increased defensive intensity. Trading buckets, the Lakers were never letting the lead go up to 5. As the clock was winding down in the 3rd quarter, Lebron James hits a big jumper to cut the lead to 2, making it 70-68 in favor of the Lakers.
The game was insanely close all the way. Trading buckets and trading leads, the Lakers' winning streak and more importantly, their pride, was  on the line. They did not want to get swept in their season series, not this team.
The Lakers were down 4 in the last minute of the game. Dwyane Wade making big plays in both ends while Kobe committing 2 turnovers that could cost them this game. The Heat now in a position of ending the Laker streak or find a way to lose this big one. 30 seconds remaining and in an attempt to make this game close, Kobe shot deep deep 3 pointer and missed. Unfortunately for the Laker fans, the Heat finally won with a final score of 88-94. The Heat held the Lakers to 40% shooting and played their best defense when it counted most. They kept the Lakers off the glass giving them plus 9 on the rebounds department.

A much needed win for the Heat especially on a close game. El Heat's new focus? Build up on this win, quiet the media, and prove that they do have a chance in the running of becoming the NBA champs.

Lakers: Kobe, 6th All-Time Scoring Leader

Looking to sweep the season series against the Hawks and creep in a little closer to the 2nd place Mavericks, they looked to win their 8th straight game coming out of the All-Star break. As the game starts you notice the game's fast paced tempo right away trading buckets early in the game. But as soon as the game progressed, the Lakers pulled away little by little and held on to take the win 101-87.

Great defense resulting to only under 40% shooting by the Hawks. Good bench production especially from Lamar Odom. In the paint intimidation offensively and defensively. The major thing though is having to take advantage of their size. Other than the difference in number of rebounds and blocks, the Laker bigs are altering the inside shots of the Hawks thanks mostly to the 23 yr old Andrew Bynum. Bynum had 16 points and 16 huge rebounds for another amazing performance.
Great offensive performance by the Lakers having dominate the paint shooting at a very high 58% in the 1st half and 50% overall.

Another historical moment for the Mamba. Kobe Byrant moves past Moses Malone for 6th place in the all time scoring list. Being part of the top ten in any statistic's list is a great feat in itself. 6th in the scoring list? Now that's another story. Scoring 26 points the entire game and another strong 15 point 1st half for the future hall of famer. Next target? His former teammate, 4 time NBA champion, Shaquille O'neal. I don't expect Kobe to get past him anytime this year, unless he gets a little more than a thousand points by the end of the season that is.

These are the Lakers that we saw play in the 1st 2 weeks of the season. Looks like they're looking more and more like back to back champs. It's impossible to defeat these guys if they continue to perform like this. Next stop, south beach, where the Heat embarrassed the Lakers on Christmas day. A must watch and must win game for the both teams! Don't even think about missing this one!

Lakers Back in Championship Shape?

What happened to the Spurs? They got Lakered!!! Yeah, that's a word. Lakers dominated the Spurs 99-83. The game was one-sided from start to finish. Knowing their advantage in length, knowing that they needed to limit their turnovers, they were ready to win right from the get go. Amazing performance by the Lakers this afternoon. They had an advantage on the boards, and more importantly they weren't missing. Shooting at 46% from the field and just committing 7 turnovers.

Kobe set them on fire with his consistent scoring having scored 26points shooting 12 for 25, 17 points in the 1st half alone.
The biggest factor in this game? The youngest player ever to play in the league Andrew Bynum with 17 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Not only that, he poses a threat down the paint. The Spurs guards are having a hard time getting their shots off down the block with young Bynum just standing by to alter or block each and every one of them.
Great overall performance by the Lakers with each player contributing to the huge win. The only thing right now is to continue to focus and be hungry. These guys have targets on their backs and they know it. Phil Jackson must be enthusiastic about this win.

As Magic Johnson said during the interview "this is the best game the Lakers have played, as a collective team this season". But are they in championship shape? Were they just lucky to get most of their shots to go down early? On great teams the shots doesn't matter as much as defense, and tonight, we saw the Laker defense and rebounding power against the undersized Spurs. I can't say if they really are in their championship state yet but they certainly are moving in the right direction. Truly amazing to watch for Laker fans. If they continue to perform this well on the defensive end and continue to dominate the boards, a 3-peat is going to be big possibility.

The Lakers played to prove something tonight and they put a stamp on this game directly indicating that "only because they had the best record doesn't mean they are the better team". Can't wait for the Lakers vs Heat on thursday!!!

Trip Back Home

Okay, so after a night of sushi and drinking me and my girlfriend went back to her uncle's place to settle, sleep, and go back to my place the next day which is a good hour and a half drive.

The next day after breakfast and a morning of snuggling(it's just how i roll so deal with it). We went on our way to my place. Stopped by Best Buy and oh wait, if we stop by Best Buy then we'll be taking the back road through the mountain on Highway 300 something! So i thought, it's okay, it's going to be a fun ride, and so we were off!

We were going through these single lane roads and all of a sudden, on a hot sunny day everything went white,
no we didn't get into an accident. IT WAS SNOWY!!! all the fields were white, the roof of the cars coming our way had snow on them, the roofs of the houses were covered in snow, it was an unexpected and at the same time phenomenal view considering I'm living in California. So my girlfriend took out her Nikon fancy camera (one of those things you use in modeling or art photography and stuff) and behold, there was no battery inside. I chuckled and like a good boyfriend, comforted her. She left it at my place, but fortunately she had her old digital camera so everyone's happy! She was taking pictures of everything, and I mean everything! Don't get me wrong, she has a knack for taking great pictures. Anyways, i couldn't look at them now 'cause I was driving around 40-60mph and the road was quite narrow and so we just went on. Me driving, her taking pictures. Suddenly we were at 5,000 ft elevation! and the view was awesome, we had to stop somewhere to take pictures.

The first stop wasn't that successful, we couldn't see everything, but the second one was awesome. It was built for people to take pictures, the place had a few parking space and all so yeah, it was awesome. We got off the car, take out the tripod and it's picture time! On our way to the ledge we see this big dog on the pickup truck, it was a husky i thought, and i asked the owner what breed it was and guess what, IT'S A WOLF!!! a big ass wolf! Not to mention it's just 10mos old. Me and my girlfriend were taking pictures of the wolf whose name was bison or vincent, whatever, sounds the same when it's your first time to touch a wolf, and it was really a fun and enjoyable moment having to pet a wolf like your own dog. Unfortunately, they had to leave. Were we too annoying? Either way, we don't care. Now it was our turn to take our pictures. Here and there and wait, the Oscars are tonight, we should get going.

On the way we were talking about how awesome our trip back home was. For all we knew this day was just going to be an ordinary road trip, but we were proven wrong. We made it home safe obviously 'cause i lived to tell the tale. One thing, you should bring a camera, or in our case a spare camera, everytime. EVERYTIME!!!
